I am a former high school teacher, a wife, a mother of two young children, freelance writer, and children's author. In 2006, I melded my love of teaching with my passion for healthy living and created Better Health Solutions, LLC.
I am a 2007 graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, where I received my training to practice Health Counseling. IIN is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. I am also certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) as a Health Counselor.
My passion for health and wellness led me to Study Spring Forest Qigong with Master Chunyi Lin in Minneapolis, MN, where I have studied through level 3 and completed the Level 1 teacher certification course. In addition, I am the author of what will be a series of chapter books for elementary-aged children--Fiberman and the Superfoods--and the creator of LifeSpices, fun reminders of the power of our thoughts. Through individual and group counseling programs and community and corporate lectures, I am using my over ten years experience as a teacher to bring health awareness and healthy choices the communities and people I interact with every day.
I truly believe I can help make your world, your home, and your body a better place to live!
