I received my training to practice Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.  I am also certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

If you ask my heart, I've always been a health counselor.  Since I was a young girl, I've loved helping people through their "challenges" in life and helping them to reach their goals.  Nothing gives me more satisfaction than knowing I've made a positive difference in someone's life!

 

Every person deserves a cheerleader through their journey in this life, to support them in every aspect, to encourage them and to help them find joy to fill their hearts.  I would feel honored to be that person in your life.

"I used to ignore my aches and pains, the fact that I would be constipated a lot, and run out of energy by 2:00 P. M.  every day.   I just figured I was getting older and I would just have to adjust to my life as an older person. 

 I used to be constipated and bloated  at least three times a month and it would last for days.  It was uncomfortable to say the least. I even went to the doctor for it but they never found anything because they never went into what I was eating.  I started taking a probiotic in a glass of juice every night and some herbal colon cleansers.  I also cut down on beef, chicken and pork. I no longer suffer from constipation!
 
I used to get pains throughout my legs all the time! I would groan  every time I stood up and walked. I used to like to go for walks but it wasn't as much fun anymore due to the pain. I stopped using artificial sweeteners and within three days my legs had no more pain and I stopped slurring my words. I couldn't believe it myself!! 
 
I used to have to take naps every day around 2:00 P.M. because I had no energy left.  Colleen helped me figure out what I was eating. I found out that breads, potatoes, raisins and just too many simple carbohydrates made me very sleepy!
 
I decided I wanted to eat for energy, so I eat protein in the form of beans. I found out that the best protein I can get is from beans. I was having trouble with my hair. I noticed it was getting a little thinner than I liked it -even my eyebrows were falling out- and believed eating beans would help.  I eat beans everyday now (for the last eight weeks or so) and I did notice my hair seems fuller! I am still waiting for my eye brows to grow in but I think it is starting. I eat more vegetables and find they are really good and there are so many easy ways to fix them!
 
I am still learning how to eat, but I am listening to my body because it knows what makes it feel good (long term good not short term).  My body has been so good to me.  It keeps going even when I don't treat it right by not eating well or by not getting enough sleep.  Now I found that my body is my best friend and I want to treat it like one!
 
I never realized just how the food I eat determines how I feel!  Now I realize of course it does and everyone is different in how foods affect them.  I feel like I have control of the way I want to feel. That makes me smile!
 
Oh, I forgot to tell you the side effect...I lost 9 lbs.!!"
