I live in Brooklyn New York. I hold group programs in Brooklyn and support individual clients by telephone.
I am married with a 6 year old daughter and 5 month old son. Sustainable living and being is my priority.
Changing my food and habits, changed my life.
I began my formal path of helping others through nutrition and lifestyle habits when I read the book La Maravillosa Existencia de la Enfermedad (The marvelous Existence of Dis-ease) by Sanitago Portiz in 2002. I had been experimenting with my diet to alleviate chronic health issues I had and suddenly, the pieces all fell into place. My body was trying to speak to me for years and all of a sudden, I heard it. Creating health requires a daily practice of balance, and like a garden, is something that needs tending to daily. But after that book, it was clear to me that I wanted to help others also dealing with chronic health issues or other imbalance through food -- the "medicine" we take several times a day.
I began studying nutrition at The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. This was an invaluable experience where I really got the nuts and bolts of nutrition and began seeing clients that I got to see feel better! However, I felt I was missing a piece. I found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition a few years later, which helped fill the gaps. I realized that change takes time. That my giving a client a laundry list of what to eat and take and what not to eat and take is not very empowering for the client. It works as long as I engaged, but over time was not sustainable. Through IIN I started seeing clients in 3 and 6 month programs. With a longer structure, there is time to experiment and to focus on one thing at a time.
It is true that when you change one thing, everything changes. So by adding in new foods and practices one at a time, over time -- change can be profound.
I love this work and am inspired by my clients' commitment to their health and well being. That is the most important ingredient. A willingness to show up, to try. A desire for more and an open mind for the how.
If your interest is peaked, I would love to hear from you.

Testimonials
In working with Felicia I learned that I do not have to follow the rules but need to discover what works for me. Felicia is nonjudgmental in her approach and together we created the environment for me to discover my own nutritional journey. In the process of creating this journey, which is never ending but always developing, I learned that cooking healthy food can be fun, inexpensive and a social activity. Talking about one's history with food can be an overwhelming and emotional experience. Felicia through her humanity and passion for her work made me feel totally open to explore many options in developing a healthier lifestyle. Eating is no longer a burdensome task but rather a joyous experiment which is continually changing for the better. -- Howard Edelbaum NYC 2008.

I ended my sessions with Felicia Desrosiers in the spring of 2006. At the time I learned many new facts, recipes & habits that helped me grow in my knowledge of health and healing. Both my knowledge of self and my understanding of self grew substantially as as result of our work together. Two years later, I have found that perhaps the greatest gift I have taken from those sessions is the feeling of empowerment over my own well-being. The time I took with Felicia to deeply focus on myself during those weeks gave me the framework to improve my health and well-being in the present. Currently, I take an active role in shaping my own health and happiness, thanks in a large part due to what I learned in those session two years ago. -- Holly VP August 2008.

I am a 76 year-old woman, who was diagnosed as pre-diabeticover a year ago. I attended FeliciaDesrosiers’ “Sugar Blues” conference at about that time, and was very impressedby her presentation, so much so that I subscribed to her individualprogram. She gave me valuableinformation, both orally, with publications and personal inspiration, as wellas diet counseling for several months. At the time I started her program, I weighed over155 pounds; she asked me what my goalwas, and I told her that realistically I would like to weigh 135 pounds. Within 7-8 months I had achieved that goal, and have been able to keep my weight at around 135 pounds for several months. I went from a size 14 to a size 10, making it necessary to “invest” in acompletely new wardrobe (which has been a lot of fun, actually).
I have changed my eating habits, and although I must confessthat I do not follow her advice 100%, I notice that I am eating moreconsciously, making an effort to stay healthy. I feel less lethargic, have more energy, and enjoy the comments of myfriends who see the “new me”. Aside fromlosing weight, my glucose level has remained approximately the same, actuallycoming down a few points, and my blood pressure, cholesterol and other resultshave been very satisfactory.
I truly believe that Felicia’s earnest efforts and goodcounseling are definitely a wise investment, and would urge everybody, regardless of age, to follow her advice.
