Background
I received my BA from Middlebury College in Vermont in 2002.  I am a licensed, practicing massage therapist (MA42442) since graduating from the Florida School of Massage in 2004.  I have over 1000 hours of training including 200 hrs Advanced Sports Massage and Thai Yoga Massage certifications.

Personally, I have experience healing from an autoimmune disorder (specifically Lyme Disease, but my knowledge is useful with all kinds, ie fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc).

I received my training to practice Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.

I work nationally with phone clients and occasional lectures.

Update Fall 2009

Working alongside my husband, Roger, during the three years he had cancer, taught me a tremendous amount about supplements and diet. With this experience, plus my above background, I offer health counseling to support clients and pass on useful information. Navigating a major illness is a huge task and having a support person can be invaluable. I take my role as support person very seriously and would want to work as a team with all your health care professionals.

Above and beyond the practicalities of diet and treatment, Roger and I underwent a powerful, life-changing transformation as we contemplated, and he approached, death. Life grew silent and through the silence, priorities and the real meaning of life seeped through.

Update Fall 2010
I am attending graduate school to obtain my masters degree in social work, so I may be a social worker with hospice patients.  Using the principles discussed in Joan Halifax's book, "Being with Dying: Cultivating Compassion and Fearlessness in the Presence of Death," my intention is to practice not-knowing, bearing witness, and giving no fear in my hospice patients' lives and in my daily life, as well.
