While many dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. Some diets focus on portion size while other focus on calorie consumption. While portion and calorie consumption play a role, if you aren't getting calories from REAL FOOD, then you aren't getting healthy eventhough you might drop a few pounds. Let's face it - your body will react very differently to calories from a slice of pizza, a side salad, 1/4C of gummie bears, and a coke vs. calories from grilled wild alaskan salmon, a sweet potato with a pat of butter and cinnamon, a small glass of red wine, and a piece of dark chocolate.
No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals. Through diet and lifestyle modification, many clients will experience weight loss, reduced dependence of prescription drugs, increased energy, and a feeling of more balance in their lives. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, IBS, sleep issues, type II diabetes, and mood are just some of the many things that can all be positively affected with the proper nutrition changes. Together we will find what works for YOU, and have fun doing it!
