About Joyce
Until twelve years ago, I never gave much thought about my food choices and how they might affect my body or behavior. The only time I began to put any connection together about food and mood came when I was in my classroom teaching elementary age students. Some students came to school having eaten or not eaten breakfast which affected their actions. Then, I observed the behavior changes of the students after they had eaten lunch. I began to see some clear connections between the behaviors displayed in relation to what had been eaten. For instance, hyperactivity seemed to occur after consuming sweets. I didn’t put together irritability, lack of focus, lethargy or in some cases, rage, as a result of food choices. It wasn’t until my own son was diagnosed with ADHD, Asthma and Bipolar Disorder that I began to explore the connection of food to behavior and overall health.
The medical profession's answer was to use medication. I went in search of natural ways to help my son along with the use of medication. I found the Feingold Diet and put the entire family on it. We saw remarkable changes in a short period of time.
I began to attend seminars and read everything that I could find to make connections that food does affect the body on many levels. I started working with chefs that specialized in Macrobiotics and Whole Food Cooking and the results were extremely positive. Not only did the entire family become healthier, Brett hasn’t needed medications for 6 years!!! This lead me to attend, The Natural Kitchen Cooking School, in Princeton and Manhattan where I became a Natural Foods Chef and I'm currently an instructor and the director of education for the school and love watching people transform their life by learning how to prepare delicious, nutritious whole foods. Visit, www.naturalkitchenschool.com. The Natural Kitchen Cooking School has expanded and our new location is in Haddonfield, NJ.
In January 2010, I began working in Concierge doctor's offices in Mount Laurel, NJ and St. David's, PA as the nutritional consultant to the patients who enjoy these doctor's who practice, "Modern medicine and provide old fashion care." It is refreshing to know that these doctors understand the role nutrition and lifestyle play in the health and well-being of their patients.(see the resource page for their names)
I understand how easy it is to fall victim to unhealthy eating habits not only for children, but for working adults who succumb to client dinners or business travel that requires eating out. Given the limited information and services that support a healthy, balanced lifestyle and family it was clear to me that something must be done! There is growing evidence that our fast-paced, disconnected and stressful lifestyle often compromises our ability to live in a state of optimal health, wellness and balance.
I decided to turn my passion for whole foods and healthy living into a career. Attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, affiliated with The Teaching School of Columbia University in NYC, I expanded my knowledge of the concept of bio-individuality. We are all different... what is one person’s food may be another person’s poison. I also learned the concept of Primary food. Primary food is more than what is on our plate. Healthy relationships, regular physical activity, a desired career and spiritual practice fill our soul and satisfy our hunger for living.
It is my desire to suppport you in exploring what foods and lifestyle choices are best for you so you can create the life you have always wanted!!!
HEALTHY, WEALTHY & WISE, LLC was created out of my intention to joyfully educate, motivate and inspire individuals to access and use their natural ability for healing to live a life that is healthier, happier and balanced.

Before starting with Joyce, I was clueless. I was feeding my family all of the wrong stuff. Going to the local grocery store buying things with artificial coloring and flavoring, preservatives, additives, high fructose corn syrup, trans fat, etc etc. My 4 year old son has a form of autism, and all of these things just made his condition worse. Joyce changed my life. She helped me make better choices by taking me to a quality food store and showing me some healthy alternatives to some of the junk we were eating. She got me over the fear and uncertainty I felt when I entered one of those stores. I asked her about juicing fresh vegetables and fruits for my son and she came over with her juicer and we did it together. I now own my own juicer and I use it all of the time. My son drinks it right up and I don't have to fight with him to eat a piece of fruit or a helping of vegetables. Joyce also supported me in so many others way. She really does take care of the whole you. I will forever be grateful for her help and guidance. Kim
Before working with Joyce, I had very little energy; little understanding about what food does to your body. After working with Joyce I now have more energy; a greater love for natural organic foods. I enjoyed talking with Joyce and hearing her views on many subjects.
