I received my training to practice Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. I graduated in June of 2006 and since then have used my education to do counseling with private clients and groups.

In 2007 I moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and worked at a women's alcohol and drug recovery center. There I integrated my love for healthy cooking with my passion for women's health, while working in conjunction with female practioners of other healing disciplines, including: art therapy, addiction therapy, dance and yoga, equine therapy, and garden therapy. It was an expanding experience that led me to a deeper understanding of the importance of healing all aspects of self in order to feel and be one's best.

In 2008 I returned to the States to concentrate on developing my health counseling skills in Portland, Oregon. I became inspired to work with pregnant women and new moms after going through the experience myself. I am a strong advocate for natural pregnancy and birth and believe in every woman having the knowledge and wisdom to make healthy choices for her body and her baby's future.  It is so important for us to be healthy ourselves--in mind, body and soul--in order to be healthy role models for the next generation.

Today I am living and seeing clients in Austin, Texas, while balancing my new life with my beautiful son. I now concentrate in supporting pregnant women, new parents and parents with young kids on their transition into a healthier life. I  teach private and group cooking classes in the Austin area and do long distance phone consultations. Please contact me today to discuss your options and begin the journey.
