What is Holistic Health Counseling and how is it different from a diet or therapy? Holistic Health Counseling is about looking at you as a 'whole being' and not just what you eat. There is so much more than eating healthy that goes into having vibrant health. It includes exercise that you enjoy, time with friends and loved ones, having an engaging career as well as a spiritual connection to yourself. When we can bring balance to these areas of your life along with healthy eating, your chances of achieving the health and well being you've always wanted are extraordinary.
Diet and therapy typically focus on specific health concerns and issues in isolation of other factors that are going on in your life and are unique to you. Holistic Health Counseling is not about counting calories and grams of fat, and rather about finding foods and lifestyle that fit your unique needs and personality.
Who will benefit best from one of your programs and what is expected of your clients?
I love working with people who are highly motivated to make a change, have a positive outlook on life and are ready to try something new. And those who take responsibility for themselves while allowing me to guide and coach them to help bring out the best in them. I also expect my clients to follow through on their commitment. Who is not likely to benefit from one of your programs?
Someone who wants a quick fix or expects transformation without consistent action. If you are not ready to make this a priority in your life, you won't see the results you are after. You also need to be ready to be challenged beyond your normal comfort zone, which is where growth and improvements really happen.
How long is the program? Most clients start out with a 6 month program and some keep going after that. The length of the program allows clients to make small gradual changes that over time lead to new habits which last a lifetime.
