Melanie Albert, co-founder of Discover Nutrition and A Green Wave, LLC, is dedicated to improving the health and happiness of people, athletes, and corporations through food and lifestyle. She is a Certified Health Counselor and graduated with honors from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City in 2007. She is certified by Columbia University and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She was recognized as on of the top students and graduated from the second year Immersion Program in June 2008. Today she is participating in the elite Top Gun Program.
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.
For the last 5 years, Melanie has been a marketing consultant to Weil Lifestyle, LLC / Andrew Weil, M.D., has has spent 25 years in corporate marketing on brands including Hanes, Donna Karan and DKNY Hosiery, Lee Jeans, and Riders Jeans.
She has been involved with integrative medicine, integrative nutrition, and the natural products industry for a decade, and is a 2001 Integrative Medicine Fellow of the Kaiser Institute. Melanie has consulted with organizations including the American Holistic Medical Association, Hospitals, Integrative Medicine Clinics, and served as the Health & Well-Being Futurist for Bath & Body Works / Limited Corporation.
Most recently, Melanie has led programs for organizations including Whole Foods Market, Heard Museum, White & Case law firm, and was one of the leaders who created 3 healthy lifestyle products licensed with Super Bowl XLII. She has also be the co-host of "Discover Nutrition" radio show in Phoenix, Arizona.
On a personal note, Melanie is very proud of being one of the strategists for Lee National Denim Day, which to date has raised $80 million for breast cancer research. Denim Day was developed when her Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago. Melanie left her corporate marketing work, moved to Florida, and helped her Mom learn some healthy lifestyle choices, such as eating organic. Happily, Melanie's Mom is still loving her life, everyday, in Cocoa Beach!
Today, Melanie is passionate about guiding others to find their passion and reach their own personal goals, and loves hands-on cooking experiences with her clients.
