I am a proud graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. I am a registered yoga teacher and certified pilates apparatus and mat trainer, with a long, established practice.
As a health counselor I work with my client's individuality to achieve an integrated and balanced lifestyle, nourishing the trinity of body, mind and spirit. A long time healthy gourmet "foodie", I am the purveyor of "Soup for the Soul", a company I established dedicated to providing for the organic well-being of those whose lives I touch, incorporating food, exercise and love of life.
As a dancer, yoga and Pilates practitioner and teacher, I bring to my clients my lifelong love of creative and therapeutic movement. I direct attention to specific breathing techniques for relaxation, stimulation and purification. I encourage kinesthetic awareness and mindful movemnent with skillful cueing proficiency. I employ the seemingly paradoxical biomechanics of release and stimulation, relaxation and vigor, letting go and control, with the goal of achieving a balance that is perfect for each unique body. I focus on form, proper alignment, strength building, and flow of movement, work with all levels of experience and offer hands-on aided assistance and guided imagery.
I use intuition and life's expereicnes to guide me and the community of YogaSpirit, Kripalu Yoga Center, PhysicalMind Institute and the Institute of Integrated Nutrition for support, education and credentials.
